This is a Lemmy Community for perchance.org, a platform for sharing and creating random text generators.

Feel free to ask for help, share your generators, and start friendly discussions at your leisure :)

This community is mainly for discussions between those who are building generators. For discussions about using generators, especially the popular AI ones, the community-led Casual Perchance forum is likely a more appropriate venue.

  • We would like to ask to refrain from posting here needing help specifically with prompting/achieving certain results with the AI plugins (text-to-image-plugin and ai-text-plugin) e.g. "What is the good prompt for X?", "How to achieve X with Y generator?"
  • See Perchance AI FAQ for FAQ about the AI tools.
  • You can ask for help with prompting at the 'sister' community Casual Perchance, which is for more casual discussions.
  • We will still be helping/answering questions about the plugins as long as it is related to building generators with them.

I would like to turn attention regarding required improvements to Perchance to prevent the "bottleneck" effect (list of few from many):

  1. forcing to use javascript + HTML for whole generator makes the code run very slow and sometimes "chooking" (this includes also when using the AI assistant)

Proposed solution: For UI, instead of javascript use: React + DOM (+ optional jQuery)

  1. The agent doesn't work parallelly (asynchronous) and block the website while it work

Proposed solution: Make the agent work parallelly

  1. No support for server-side solutions, like: gRPC, Python3. etc.

Proposed solution: Implement sopport for it

I think that including above would improve much Perchance's functionality

instead of javascript use react and dom

my guy, what the fuck are you on about?

javascript can interact with the dom. to make a ui.

react is a javascript library. its literally making your browser run even more javascript

  1. In what way would React improve performance? It's still JavaScript. I never used React, but isn't it possible to just add the script from a cdn? https://dev.to/kokaneka/react-development-using-just-a-single-file-5e65
  2. Yeah, because afaik it is actually testing what it does while the website is blocked
  3. My web dev knowledge is not elevated enough to understand what that does and why it needs to be sopported
