RELATED COMMUNITIES:
Are these popular? My kid's obsessed. He's doing a chronological read through of all the media. (The neurodivergent apple doesn't fall far)
It's a corpo novel series written by a collective hired by HarperCollins. They're owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, but I haven't heard anything problematic with the series.
Relatively popular.
Good question! I don't have a good sense of how well known they are, they were a hit in the household though
Eragon
My first thought was "this is a meme about Eragon"
I'm literally on book 1 chapter 6 "Awakening" in audiobook form as I saw this lol
Hell yeah
"You see, we separated our society into a bunch of different, color-coded, castes..."
Fucking stupid shit, would never happen in real life.
Literally (part of) the plot of the Red Rising series.
Let me guess, some guy in the Red caste Rises? How bloodydamn stupid!
Aside from that, the series is surprisingly good. Its a far cry from most dystopia I've read thus far, a much more realistic depiction of revolution imo.
Edit: just registered the reference, disregard.
All managed, of course, by Friend Computer.
And there is a dark secret regarding our color coded and computer led society, but I, your lovable oafish guide to this world, couldn't possibly know what that is.
Animorphs was definitely in this category.
I never had the opportunity to read warrior cats in my childhood. Is the series still worth reading as an adult?
My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days...
