I can buy balatro on steam, nintendo switch and even on my wife's Iphone; just not on the google playstore.
Could it be device compatibility? Apps can set certain parameters I believe. Maybe your device doesn't fit?

I have a Nothing Phone (1), maybe its the rom? But this would be the first game to do this. All other popular games, even with poker themes, are available.
I have this problem too, I'm on a stock rom, fairly popular/standard.
EDIT: removed ambiguity.
funny thing is, I was able to buy, download and play the game just fine. (Germany, Pixel 8, GrapheneOS). After seeing this post I went onto the Google Play store, searched up Balatro and saw this: 
the funny thing is, balatro is installed on my device. it works, I can play it. I'm pretty sure this means if I ever uninstall it I can't reinstall it again, meaning Google basically scammed me out of my 10€. insanity.
(I can't click on it)
So weird. In the two years that I use a Nothing Phone this is the first game that shows this message.

Yep I had the same issue here. (Pixel 8)
My solution that worked was downloading and installing through Aurora Store. I had to buy it on another android first.

I should look into this, but why are other gambling/poker games available then? Somethings fucky
Works for me with a US and EU account.
Google rules for app store gambling are quite strict and only a few select countries are allowed. Traditionally companies provide a downloadable binary in their Web sites.
On the other hand, iOS is strict with porn.
But why just Balatro then and not other gambling/poker apps?
I'd expect all gambling
Click on Balatro then send a screenshot.
Cant click or interact with it. Only way to even get to the product page is to look it up in my browser and opening the link with the olay store. But its the same error
