Fuck Corporate AI
A community to talk about the problems related to corporate AI, since this is a real problem that needs to be discussed in a rational manner.
Rules
0. No Anti-AI trolling
This is an AI friendly instance and AI friendly community. We support people using open-source local AIs to create stuff or just have fun. If you dislike that you are free to have an opinion. However your ability to post here hinges on your ability to agree to disagree.
bad faith interactions like attacking others, downvoting all posts in the community, spamming, etc. will lose you posting privileges immediately. In addition verbal or sexual harassment towards moderators will result in swift and immediate action and we will reach out to instance admins.
1. No unsubstantiated claims or pseudoscience
No bold claims without evidence. If you are stating something bold or extreme such as environmental or health effects you are required to provide sources, and these sources are open to immense scrutiny. Do not cite sources when not applicable, for example citing statistics of datacenter water usage when applied to Local LLMs on consumer hardware.
Attempting to mislead others or refusal to accept corrections will lead to action up to and including revocation of posting privileges.
2. No bigotry, including ableism and transphobia
You are not permitted to use ableist language of any kind in this community. This includes ableist slurs like "retard" or "schizo", it also includes misusing clinical terms like psycho, psychosis, or schizophrenia as insults. Doing so will earn you a ban.
Transphobia, homophobia, or queerphobia in general will not be tolerated here, queerphobic attacks towards anyone, especially moderators will not be tolerated.
3. No liberalism or related rhetoric
This is an anarchist-leftist instance and community. Liberalism or related rhetoric in favor of capitalism or copyright will not be tolerated here.
Yes, this does mean talking about "art theft" or accusing AI users of plagarism will net you a ban under this.
Apologia for "the way things are now" isn't acceptable either. It counts as violating this rule. Do not test us.
4. Do not promote corporate AI
Should go without saying but promotion of corporate AI or AI as a service. Stuff like OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or similar is forbidden here. These companies and services are deeply harmful in many ways, including undermining our individual freedoms and control over how we use the technology.
They are literally the antithesis of everything we strive for. Don't promote them, this community is to disparage them.
If you wish to promote AIs promote either open source ones that people can host themselves, or free-to-use community-run services that allow people the ability to try them out (i.e. the AIhorde).
5. Be civil
You are expected to conduct yourselves in a civil manner. Agreeing or disagreeing in calm and respectful manner. This rule is up to interpretation when it comes to reaction to extreme evil (i.e. genocide denial)
