ESL here.
Do you mean "(stop eating well) (before bed)" or "(stop eating) (well before bed)"?
Actually, I'm not sure one of these options would even have the correct syntax.

[–] AFLYINTOASTER@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Great question. Do not eat before bedtime. So your second one: (stop eating) (well before bed).

"Well" describes an amount of time in this instance, though thats only implied. "Shortly" could be considered it's opposite here.

[–] jjagaimo@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

As the others said, "well before" meaning " a long time before". General advice is to restrict your eating times to a 10 hour window and fast the remaining 14 hours, so breakfast at 9am means you must eat dinner by 7pm

[–] starchylemming@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

i will do that later

I'm sure i remember it

[–] lastlybutfirstly@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is this a reference to something? I don't understand.

Aging/ADHD/early dementia symptoms/any number of infections that can contribute to such

[–] BrickEater@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Check for mold in your home

[–] Tikiporch@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

What kind? Mold is kind of... broad.

[–] blackbrook@mander.xyz 12 points 2 days ago

Check for AI while you're at it.

I have this, I think it's long covid.

[–] FundMECFS@piefed.zip 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It is if it followed a COVID infection.

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 12 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I've heard of people developing long covid after an asymptotic infection.

[–] FundMECFS@piefed.zip 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Definitely possible, but harder/nearly impossible to verify.

Anyways long COVID isn’t one illness, it’s an umbrella term for health problems following a COVID infection. It can mean anything from COVID triggered Autoimmune diabetes to loss of smell after COVID.

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It seems the most likely explanation. Either that or severe depression. Early onset dementia seems much less likely.

[–] FundMECFS@piefed.zip 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah. Definitely I wouldn’t shy away from joining Long COVID communities and the like. They will be helpful probably. BTW, do you experience PEM?

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Thank you. I never even considered long covid communities. Assuming I understand correctly, I don't believe I suffer from PEM.

[–] FundMECFS@piefed.zip 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

No worries, just be aware that like most chronic illness communities they are riddled with dodgy treatments. People all have their theories and their pet supplements when in reality we just don’t know.

but the useful thing is being in a group of people who suffer similarly, if you can get past the annoying alt-med, everyone cosplaying as a biologist, thing.

[–] Liz@midwest.social 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's not unreasonable. A few folks have developed it after getting vaccinated against COVID. To anyone thinking they might skip on the vaccine for your reason: don't. Health outcomes are still way way better if you get the vaccine.

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 5 points 1 day ago

I did get the vaccine just to be clear. I highly recommended everyone else do the same.

The lion should probably be more concerned with his fucking health, wtf?

FFS people talk to your doctor and make healthier decisions if you are experiencing this to the point it's noticeable.

[–] lakemalcom@sh.itjust.works 50 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Doctors: Idk your test results are in the normal range 🤷

[–] queerlilhayseed@piefed.blahaj.zone 37 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"That'll be somewhere between $15 and $900, your insurance will let you know eventually."

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I love Europeans telling us to go to the doctor like it's that easy.

[–] manuremy@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 day ago

I'm European living in an European country with universal healthcare and I still can't afford or reach a doctor. First they make you call a nurse, that appointment will be in 5-12 weeks, then maybe if the nurse thinks you need the doctor you wait another 5-12 weeks to get to the doctor. And it costs. And also the possible exams or meds cost as well. Yes, less than in USA, but still too much..

[–] chunes@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

These problems aren't the kind that you prevent by 'healthier decisions.' It's you got a virus and got unlucky.

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 days ago

Sounds like the lion is getting older and stoned-er

[–] the_xboxkiller@lemmy.zip 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I’ve had this thing happening the last couple days where the top of my head is tender to the touch lol but the lion don’t care.

[–] chocrates@piefed.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I will have a hair follicle get tender for a bit too. Assuming it goes away it hasn't killed me yet

[–] the_xboxkiller@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 days ago

Good enough for me!

[–] Overspark@piefed.social 9 points 2 days ago (2 children)

As a post-covid sufferer I'm definitely feeling this one.

[–] FundMECFS@piefed.zip 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Same. ME/CFS triggered by COVID.

And most doctors are useless about it refuse to believe it.

[–] AmyAye@nord.pub 1 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Was it caused by COVID or caused by the endless daily high stress caused by the world being run bybthe worst paychos causing people to just completely shutdown internally and kind of wish for a nuclear holocaust to clense the Earth, asking for a friend.

[–] FundMECFS@piefed.zip 5 points 1 day ago

The first. Before COVID infection I was a healthy young person doing 30 hours of sports a week, since getting COVID I’ve been unable to leave my bed suffering from dozens of symptoms vomiting every day getting loads of infections because apparently my immune system called quits.

And just to be clear. While I initially faced disbelief from loads of doctors. I eventually found one specialised in long COVID who confirmed this and then I was confirmed when I had to go through the 1000 loops of hell to get disability income. So I’m not pulling this out of my arse.

(And frankly the “Actually it’s probably just stress” is the sort of minimising and harmful prejudicial attitude that’s hurting advocacy efforts and making it hard for long COVID to be taken seriously by the general public.)

[–] Liz@midwest.social 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Nah those are legit different things.

The sympathetic/parasympathetic disregulation probably responsible for some MECFS cases is a different mechanism from the immune system disregulation probably responsible for others. Though, it is unlikely that just general stress would get you MECFS, you're probably burnt out, which is also a real thing but different.

Key question: do you have an effort limit, and will surpassing that effort limit cause your body to revolt (sometime within the next ~24 hours) as well as lower your effort limit for future episodes?

[–] AmyAye@nord.pub 2 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I am basically at the point where I juat flat out don't care anymore about anythng. Because why bother. At this point, best case scenario, the world cooks us alive and kills all the food in 10-15 years.

[–] laurelraven@lemmy.zip 1 points 20 hours ago

Holy shit that's so depressingly relatable

[–] Liz@midwest.social 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sounds pretty burnt out to me. You just got there 10-15 years before mother Earth apparently.

[–] AmyAye@nord.pub 1 points 21 hours ago

Just starting to get on the cusp of the old and cratchety age I guess.

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 2 points 2 days ago

I don't remember ever being sick is the fucked up part.
