I wouldn’t trust them enough to run anything important.

There is nothing Oracle could ever do to convince me to use their services or software even if they were free.
Fuck Oracle, fuck Larry Ellison!
Do I need to bring some poppers and lube? Why are we fucking Larry Ellison?
You see what happens, Larry?
You see what happens?
This is what happens, Larry. This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps. This is what happens when you feed a stoner scrambled eggs.
If I could I'd double upvote. That got an audible belly laugh. Great movie. One of those movies that has so many memorable lines.
No one should touch anything Oracle with a 5000ft pole, to be honest. Sorry you had to find out that way, OP.
Yeah... I pay money for 2 cores and 4gb RAM. I'd read the fine print on those free services.
I'm not comfortable with free services anymore. Nor am I comfortable dealing with a company subject to the Cloud Act.
I'm not really sure Azure or AWS is much better. Not a defense of Oracle or Larry, just a dearth of free VPS servers out there, and I'm not sure I want to spin up a paid one with the other guys.
I suppose this is what getting your stock rated just above trash will do.

the notification says :
Does not impact existing boot volumes, Block Volumes, or running instancesApplies only to new instance launches or workflows that create new boot volumes after enforcement is enabled
For now...
thanks. the notification went away after login and I wasn't able to find its text anywhere in the myriad of pages.
also I'd take this "does not" coming from them with a bag of salt.
Thabks for the notification, I never expected much from oracle so I got everything backed up and running in podman.
This is my escape plan: https://contabo.com/en-us/storage-vps/
