I've been enjoying Clevergoat's "Star Battle" game, but I blew through their archive pretty quickly. Does anyone know of a similar game anywhere?

Edit: after going through the suggestions and doing some more poking around, https://queensultimate.com/ seems to be the closest to Clevergoat's version (which includes several UI features that I really like). Thank you everyone for your help!

Looks like the same game as Queens in the LinkedIn app. I don't think you can play through the archive there though. Only the daily one.

Aha, Queens is the other name for it! I'm looking for somewhere with an archive, unfortunately. Also why does LinkedIn have games, lol.

So i have a reason to keep linked in on my phone.

I swear we're going to find out it's a rating system that LinkedIn sells to employers.

Simon Tatham's puzzle collection has several similar games.

I came across this game years ago, 800 levels sped through. The guy tat made the app made a few others in a similar vein. The ads stopped me playing but I absolutely do recommend.

Now I do shikakus.

Might be worth noting that "standard" star battle is 2 stars per region/row/column, it's a bit more involved than 1 star.

My exploration into the topic seems to concur: "Queens" is the standard game and "Star Battle" is the adaptation. Although most places use the terms interchangably.

Tents (or "tents and trees") is a similar puzzle, main difference being that instead of a star in every row/column you make the tents match the given numbers.

Also, I've had this app for years, it's got Tents and some other fun puzzle games (free w no ads), if you like these kind of puzzles you might find a few others you enjoy in the app, too: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=name.boyle.chris.sgtpuzzles

They actually have Star Battle on the site!

I like the UI of Clevergoat's version better, but this site has a bunch of different grid layouts, which is nifty.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Haha glad that worked out! :)

You might like Slitherlink. It's not quite the same puzzle type, but it's a similar casual style puzzle game.

Ah, yes this looks similar. The UI is weird though (why use a keyboard?). Also one thing I like about Clevergoat's version is that unlike sudoku you never have to guess; you can always logic out where the stars go without the need to try out different combinations. Going through the different games being recommended, I'm starting to suspect that might be unusual. Thanks for the suggestion!

I started playing something similar to this on iOS called Meowdoku.

It is ad supported, but it’s pretty easy to work around using the usual strategies.
