Do you do a lot of voting? Version 7 puts a limit on how much voting can be done in a day. I don't know the limit or the details. If your quota bar is solid red, it's the reason. Let me know.

Yup... That would be it. My quota is full. I had no idea that was a thing. I usually scroll the /top/all feed and upvote things as I go through, and then hide hidden posts. I guess I gotta start just clicking on them and only upvoting some posts.
Same thing occurs to me using the Piefed api after 1.7.1
Are you blocking scripts by means of a browser extension?
Nope. It's also effecting my Boost for Lemmy app as well when it happens. That's actually usually how I notice it first, then I try it on other devices and browsers and it seems to still not work.
I just opened the console log in my browser, and it seems like I'm getting rate limited. Example of one below:
XHRPOST https://feddit.online/post/1814638/upvote/default [HTTP/2 429 96ms]
Response Status Error Code 429 from /post/1814638/upvote/default
Also I'm seeing posts from other instances with an image or video attached but instead of the media is a placeholder label saying 'Quote is waiting to be approved ' and, when I look on the OP's instance, it is viewable. It doesn't ever show up at feddit.online. I think this also is a related VPS error.
VPS comms error. I have noticed some rate limiting, too. I think it's related.
Rate limiting is possible. Currently, 1/3 of all the traffic coming in (about 200K requests/day) are bots. Rate limits were necessary. How often do you vote within a minute?
In the past 24 hours, only 13 requests got rate-limited by the firewall. No rate limits in the last 24 hours from the server itself. The 13 was part of a burst of requests coming from lemmy.world. But just 13 the whole day. Unsure where else the 429 error could have come from. Seems unlikely it was from feddit.online.
