Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 3 days ago (2 children)

idunno, this isnt quite what id do. this feels more like a hornypost rather than an actually fun time.

where's the excitement if they dont consent? what if i do a thing they really really dont like? what if some of it brings up some kinda trauma in them? what if they end up just... clearly not liking it.

i would stop, untie them and let them go... no tea, no nothing cuz they probably wanna be as far away as possible from this crazy peep.

this kind of a thing can be fun but.... ohgosh ask them - ask them ask them ask them ask them. and also huggie them first so they know u dont mean it evily when u do evil things if u do evil things.

i talk as if i have exp now.

People into this stuff do expect consent. It's a fantasy that wouldn't work if it literally happened, but appeals to the submissive desire by virtue of it being divorced from unpleasant realities. Brats who want to be tamed usually indicate they want it before the dom would do anything.

Also, happy 3 years on Blåhaj Zone!

imean - i knowwwww that thisvisnt meant literally...

but like - what im saying is kinda... i think it would feel even spicier if there were some consent talk even in the clip... cuz this way it feels too harsh and-... not cutie. how is a too ever gonna have fun if they arent sure their bottom feels safe?

i would like - i would be just as scared as they are.... ;(

EDIT: yeye i knowwwww its a tiktok thing, its meant to be instant horny.... sigh....

If you want content that includes the consent conversations, it's out there.

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

imean i knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....

like - im not here cuz im like "um actually this hornypost should have been softer" but more like "i think that would have made peeps lookin at it happier" kinda thing...

like- im-.... i dont even want the spicy, i want the soft before, the asking, the genuine care, the.... idunno im proooobably overromantisizing this but- u know?

the - the part where the one gets the other to say a thing they might never have articulated, the light play in that, the - the way peeps handle things when they dunno if their partner/s should hear about a certain thing. the "strawberry cake or cheesecake?", the" talk or shily be talked into", the looking and not knowing - THAT. yes, that.

that is what im here for.

[–] SuperNovaStar@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That is... Not the norm, i'm afraid.

I get what you mean though. Don't get me wrong, I also like the OP and stuff like it, but I can see the appeal of seeing the softer side, too. But I think you'll find a lot of people enjoy a rougher/darker fantasy even if it wouldn't be fun if it were real.

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

i mean like - im essentially asking for an entirely different thing here.. this is a hornypost and i go "well actually a tea party would have been nicer" >v<

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

hm? oh nonono i dont think im ace.... hold up, lemme check.

okay now i know what it means for sure and noooo i do like that stuff too sometimes- but i think the romantics stuffs feels so much more cutie and interesting and spicy ~

Oh ok 😝

I just hear ace/demi/graysexual people say things like that so I was curious

[–] verdare@piefed.blahaj.zone 7 points 3 days ago

I feel like the consent was implied to have been given some time during that jump cut from the streets to the sheets…

Is file.garden down? I'm unable to connect.

It's working for me. Do you need a reupload, or is checking the source okay with you?
