Well this is true to some extent about all fireworks shows. So it's mostly just a "how bad is it" kind of judgement.
Yeah, July 4th is the bane of asthmatics, PTSD sufferers, and pet owners and has been since fireworks displays have been a thing. I’m totally here to shit on Trump, but let’s also shit on every city that does it as well. ‘It’s an important tradition to raise the AQI to 200+ and spray heavy metals everywhere’ only holds water for so long, and it’s not only bad when Trump does it.

Not surprised, he's the kind of guy who blows his paycheck on several automatic boxes of fireworks and lights them all at once. "It's going to be huge!" but you can't see much and it's over after a couple of minutes.
And the last ones set off cause a fire.
... and sets them all off before it gets dark.
