Honeslty I think this general idea is great.
Like, once a week or month, have some kind of 'now you doodle this noodle' event... spontaneous doodling is of course still totally fine, but having something semi-regular might be a fun event for participants and observers?

Have you tried being good at drawing badly? That's only like 100 hours or less.
Nah, too much repetitive, unperfect work. If I can't do something flawless in 2 hours, it gets dumped :p
