I have no idea what this bush is called, but for three or so weeks out of the year it smells fantastic. Very sweet smelling.

Could be wild privet... I only know it as "Liguster", but Wikipedia gave me that English page...

Privets do look visually similar. Our plant is probably related, but I'm not sure if it's a privet proper. I've never seen berries and the leaves are a bit smaller. Evidently privets can be invasive. Ours is certainly hardy, but I've never seen it trying to spread in the 10 years we've lived here.

I don't know the name either but it looks like the one our neighbors had that we called the bee bush because bees loved it. And it smells so delicious!
