It's been proven time and again that privatization is not in the best interests of the citizenry. I thought we were moving away from that and trying to own our own shit again. The gap between talk versus action is getting considerably wider.

I agree. The best solution is to avoid credit card in our hospital. And stay together to keep our greatest; Canadian healthcare.

It's demenstrated itself to be detrimental p.much every time they've gone with it.

It’s easy to slam Ontario healthcare if you’ve never actually experienced a huge need to be in the hospital.

Both of my parents received top notch service in 2 different hospitals in Toronto.

If this was a private system, once their insurance stopped paying or if they were “out of network”, they’d have to start paying out of pocket and start eating into their savings / retirement or selling their house.

Anyone that supports this type of privatization of our healthcare can kindly fuck right off out of this country.

if you’ve never experienced this, you have no idea what you you’re talking about.

Bro I haven't gotten my ADHD meds in over a year, it's bad. but I also suspects its perpously being made bad by Doug. That and the fucking doctors union won't increase training positions. Because I can't find a fucking doctor who will take me a a patient.

That's how scams work. The scammer manufactures a problem, they tell you they are going to fix it for you, then they take your money and leave you with nothing when there was no real problem to begin with.

You do not want a capitalist parasite stealing both your healthcare and your money.

Sorry to hear that. Not sure why. My son has no issues getting his.

Cool, I'm not your son.

Looking at the US I would say privatization is the cause of the crisis.

[–] Kvoth@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Living in the US I confirm this assertion

[–] garbagehead@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago

Coming to Canada from the US, you absolutely do not want privatization. Canadian health care works great, sure a few bugs to work out these days but nothing anywhere near the horrors of US health seeking and reimbursement.
