News News: A series of reported suicides involving NEET aspirants has drawn attention to the mental health impact of exam uncertainty following the cancellation .

Edit : the number has increased since, as NEET got re-conducted on the 21st.

According to police and family accounts, she had sent an emotional WhatsApp message expressing fear and anxiety over taking the NEET exam again after the cancellation.

Damn. Peeps got it rough in India. Gotta take an exam just to be a NEET :<

This made me chuckle because my total lack of understanding of what this NEET was made the headline a garden path sentence.

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST [ NEET (UG) – 2026 ] will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions.
