Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

The suit says the fight is “private” and “for-profit,” and it alleges that even though the UFC claims it is “eating” the cost of the event and isn’t selling tickets, “the event will likely be profitable for the UFC and its partners.”

You think so? Do you think having the president endorse your company and stage an event on the whitehouse lawn could possibly financially benefit the UFC??

Just remember. He loves Tesler

Imagine in the before times If you wrote a fiction where the president was a McDonald's devouring fat piece of shit pedo-rapist that was staging a UFC fight on the whitehouse lawn.

I mean, Biff was based on Trump. He’s always been what he is.

Only way Idiocracy could be more accurate is if they picked a white man instead of terry crews as president.

do you have a different source than CBS News?

[–] TheJesusaurus@piefed.ca 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes, the filing itself that CBS are reporting on. I mean I understand not trusting a source but mainstream news reporting on a matter of public record....?

[–] ZeroCool@piefed.ca 24 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

CBS news is a far right propaganda outlet now, so it's about not giving them traffic. There are plenty of reputable sources reporting on this story, there's no reason to link to them.

Because they brought in Bari Weiss to clamp down on truthful reporting or because they fired Stephen Colbert for speaking truth to power or because they fired Scott Pelley of 60 minutes for telling the truth?

This whole ufc fight at the Whitehouse is as American as it gets. Like it's a perfect representation of American culture. The only thing that could be added to the scene to make it more cringe is tax paying netflix watching rebel protestors at the fences.

Everyone bites the hand feeding them instead of cooking for themselves. Shit detach and cut the hand off already.

[–] 51dusty@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago (2 children)

No, it's a caricature of America the through the lens of a potentially demented and definitely criminal narcissist.

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

the system is what it does. as in this is america not a caricature at all.

[–] IAmYouButYouDontKnowYet@reddthat.com 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Yes, but we still all pay for it to be this way! I think that was the point I was trying to get across in my first comment. 🫠
