Oh I know.

As does anyone who, five years ago, didn't have to think twice about the cost of eating out or hopping in the car. Just a sea of empty storefronts now in a lot of places, and we're all stuck living in places that are being slowly and systematically deadened in order to make a billionaire's bank balance go up a few bucks that they'll never actually live to spend.

Every dollar spent at a company listed on the stock market is (mostly) a dollar whisked out of the economy that regular people function in, and into the other economy that's used to syphon more money from the first one.

You're not wrong. Important to shop local where you can, but I think for a lot of people that's unfortunately just not an option. They're stuck in a billionaire-constructed ecosystem that locks them into their Walmart and Amazon accounts.

Word. It's our monetary system. As soon as interest is charged on something (or otherwise getting something for nothing), this is where things inevitably end up, it's how the math works out. The wealthy remain wealthy because wealth, and they have even more now, accumulating at an even faster pace.

Go further.

With health care companies those dollars are days, weeks, months, even years you could have spent with loved ones who didn’t seek a physician or get medical treatment because it was too expensive or denied.

Those stolen dollars are a retirement you’ll never have, children you won’t have because kids are unaffordable, a house you can’t afford, debt you stay trapped in, everything you no longer own like music, games, or even features in your own car, trapped in subscription hell.

And when we complain about these things to the elites, they tell us, "Then get more education, and get a better job."

And we say "🤬"

Imagine if we all just agreed to eat at least 1 billionaire, like literally eat a billionaire just to make a point. Im a vegetarian but I’ll take a bite just to prove a point. If we publicly bbq and eat one, we can see if they fall in line or we eat another

They will never fall in line. They must be removed.

If they feel their lives are in danger, they'll just go hide in their bunkers or launch themselves into outer space.

Glad people is finally noticing what I have been aware of for the last decade. Being a peddler on a bicycle is not glamorous but I get to see new places, manage my own time and whatever little I make is for my own benefit, not some unknown corporate elite's new mansion.

Fuck the system.

The problem isn't so much the billions of dollars worth of wealth being accumulated by the rich, as if everything would be ok if they were only accumulating tens or hundreds of millions instead. The problem is the focus on wealth accumulation itself. That's why I don't think the ultimate goal should be wealth redistribution, but the elimination of the concept of wealth entirely. We shouldn't focus on how much wealth we accumulate but the quality of life we have.

Our lives are a resources to be consumed by the machine, a human resource.

In any sane society all these crimes would warrant 130 consecutive death sentences for each corporate executive responsible.

Yeah, we can keep dreaming...
