Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

How can something implode that doesn't exist?

Peace Plan?

Does he even have a concept of a plan yet?

[–] mrodri89@lemmy.zip 11 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Exploded where? His diaper?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 hour ago

No news if so.

[–] CaliforniaSober@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 hours ago

Peace plan…

That’s how dumb you sound….

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 76 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

The president of the United States is going on an expletive laden tirade (again). Surely we have reached the point where you can publish the word Fuck in a headline. The broad news media coyness about "bad words" is so fucking asinine. He said the words, publish the words. The guy rapes kids, but heaven forbid those kids accidentally read a curse word, that'd scar them.

[–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 21 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Feel like the US media would say "he allegedly had unwanted intercourse with underage parnters" or some shit like that. Something real pedo-coded.

It's all elites protecting the pact that they have. Case in point, even the owner of TheDailyBeast is:

Barry Charles Diller (born February 2, 1942) is an American billionaire businessman. He is chairman of IAC and Expedia Group, and founded the Fox Broadcasting Company with Rupert Murdoch and USA Broadcasting. Diller was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1994

Sure they're ultimately just people, but their class interests and protections will always get ahead of that. Even within those more "left" than the average rich person.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 5 points 9 hours ago

So that explains why TheDailyBeast is always so clickbaity and editorialized. I've always hated and ignored their reporting, even though it's mostly on my side of the political spectrum...

STUPID Libtard thinking 8 year old WOMEN are Underage!

-People with Kill Pedophile Stickers!

[–] gjoel@programming.dev 1 points 2 hours ago

Actually a lot of 8-year olds are very mature and are perfectly capable of deciding for themselves if they want sexual relations with mature men in perfect health. A loving relationship between two concending humans does not equate sexual assault, you monster!

  • probably some Trump supporter.

Not me. Writing the above made me wash my hands twice, my eyes once and puncture my eardrum so I could flush my brain with alcohol.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 21 points 10 hours ago

Good. Keep that blood pressure up. In anger, he should wolf down four or five McDonald's cheeseburgers...

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 8 points 8 hours ago

Art of the deal right there folks…

[–] empireOfLove2@lemmy.dbzer0.com 30 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Uncontrolled outbursts of profanity and rage are a textbook sign of dementia.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 5 points 7 hours ago

Also of being a massive arsehole.

[–] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Well fuck I think I’ve had dementia since this prick decided to descend that goddamn escalator

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 5 points 6 hours ago

Imagine seeing that fat, Hapsburgian reality tv show failed fuck descend an escalator in a mall with his mail order Epstein bride and 70million + people go “I’ll vote for him”. US is clowncountry.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 42 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

All the sources for anything in the oval are people trump pays

Especially when it's about phone calls a handful of people were in the room for, if it leaks it's intentional.

Which could mean they're testing the waters of cutting ties, or just to distance himself in the public eye but nothing changes.

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 8 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

This is how politics has worked for centuries.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world -5 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

That's not true at all ...

What the actual fuck about today do you think is normal for the entire existence of America?

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 15 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

The use of leaks to the press to gauge reaction to a hypothetical policy or announcement? The subject of this comment chain?

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world -1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Yes...

None of those are happening normally.

If a bus slams into the bus stop at 90mph, you don't just step onto it. Even if it arrived at the right time.

[–] ohulancutash@feddit.uk 4 points 7 hours ago

No idea what that’s supposed to be an analogy of.

Are you actually claiming that Trump is the first to practice kite-flying? Because that’s a bold claim.

[–] GreenBeard@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 hours ago

They're right though. "Floating a trial balloon" and "Testing the waters" wouldn't be idioms if they weren't a common behaviour.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 5 points 8 hours ago

What a total incompetent fuck up.

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 9 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I miss when a tan suit and Dijon mustard was scandalous.

[–] GreenBeard@lemmy.ca 5 points 10 hours ago

Remember Arugula-gate? I can guarantee Pepperage Farms remembers.

[–] king_comrade@lemmy.world 3 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Paywalled, anyone got a free link for the broke homies? 🙏

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

No. But I self host readeck and it seems to handle these things well. If you read a lot it’s worth the five minutes.

[–] homes@piefed.world 6 points 11 hours ago

Time to change the diaper, I guess
