The last season of The Boys is a bit heavy handed with the satire.
Not The Onion

The US's 250th? No. They're celebrating Trump's 80'th birthday and the end of democracy in this country.
All I can think of is the later part of Idiocracy where President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camachohad forced Joe into that car battle arena...
If I have to choose between him and Trump, I'd still pick him.
Commacho was an idiot, but still a good man underneath. He realized he was too stupid to solve the problems facing his society, so he found literally the smartest man alive to help him.
Then, when he saw how good a job that man did, Commacho stepped aside after his term of power.
That's a good leader.
Dwayne was dumb but had personal entigrity and the ability to learn, unlike the current US president, though.
Most find it tacky and loathsome. His target audience loves it.
This is one of those situations where everyone involved needed to take a step back and go "What the hell am I doing? And why do I continue to do it?"
And not a single damn person did.
