I just got some lox on sale and the flesh is greasy and it has a strong smell of fish. Tastes fine, but I've never seen that before in smoked salmon. Is this normal? I'm not a big fish guy.
To be clear, I and two others have eaten this and haven't suffered any ill effects.

I have had smoked salmon lox that smell fishier sometimes. But they taste fine.
I've always found cold smoked salmon to have a fishy smell.
Give it 24 hours then report back.
