It only cost $122,000,000 for trump to get a Republican to win a Republican primary...

Most expensive primary in the history of the Senate, and it's likely just going to depress republican turnout in the general and increase Dem turnout.

Well, Texas acquitted this guy, what was it there house of reps convicted him overwhelmingly andthe Senate overwhelmingly and almost immediately exonerated him. And he's guilty of sin we all know it this guy's a piece of fucking shit.

I'm speaking of course of a year or two ago, instead of the criminal prosecution that somehow languished for like a decade or two and then was shelved with no actual trial, they tried him in like the House and Senate of the state to remove him from his position. But they were too corrupt to achieve that.

I guess I should put a link here, https://apnews.com/article/ken-paxton-impeachment-texas-871fb9c57b38fbda5bec5c2e5f280755

He's been doing Trump style evasion of criminal prosecution in Texas for so fucking long and all of the cronies are cool with it

Not for long, the orange head has spoken!! They'll fall in line with the others soon.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 2 points 1 month ago

They'll get over it.

[–] ProfThadBach@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Well then maybe they should do something.

The more GOP infighting, the better. In the end, Trumps only choice will be to cancel the election...

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Which he absolutely does not have the power to do, but the quislings that DO have that power will allow it to happen.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 2 points 1 month ago (2 children)

So he has the power to do it.

Midterms are going to be nasty, but I truly fear November 2028.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.cafe 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He has no intention of leaving after 2028. That's going to take violence, and we better start preparing for it now.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 1 points 1 month ago

I've been preparing for some time. I think I'm not alone.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

He indirectly has the power to do it with certain people, yes. I don't know how it would work, since elections are run by the states, not the federal government, and blue states won't be canceling them. Only counting blue state votes doesn't seem like it would go well for the GOP.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.cafe 2 points 1 month ago

There are Democratic districts in those Red states, too, and a whole lot of flips that they aren't expecting. I want those Blue seats in Red , too.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

GOP infighting is the best fighting!
