Honestly everything about this film feels cheap to me.

Which is absurd because I know they spent a fuck-ton of money on it.

Good to see we’re at the advertisements inside of advertisements stage of capitalism.

ad font larger than the damn movie name, bigger than the leads head

Honestly I'd like it better without the Fandango logo. Saw one earlier with Dolby on it. Leave the logos on the bottom and out of the way.

This poster isn't doing the film any favors.

Can’t wait to watch this Fandango movie.

I hope it's grim

Awful poster.

Like, it’s a dogshit movie, marginally even MOTU, yet our childhoods were better for it having happened. Also just looks badass.

Why don't they make posters like this anymore? Sure, the "floating heads" are trite now, but the a e s t h e t i c? Bring it back for a movie like this!

Lowest possible effort to maximize profit. MOTU isn’t a consistently viable IP that can relaunch every 10-12yrs for the next gen of youth like TMNT or Transformers. They’re banking on nostalgia but instead of embracing what they have going for them they do the bare minimum to advertise. It’s odd too because 80s/90s nostalgia is hot right now, MOTU is iconic 80s, and no matter what you do it’s still a story of tiger riding beefcake in a loincloth battling a skeleton wizard. The coke in Hollywood just ain’t what it used to be.

Who wants to watch this? I have zero interest.

[–] sanitation@lemmy.radio 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I would. is that a remake of some old movie ?

[–] eestileib@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 days ago

It's a milieu made up of repainted surplus action figures, they commissioned a TV cartoon to promote them in the 80s. There was a live action movie with Dolph Lundgren.

It's campy (that is, gay AF).
