Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

MAGA followers will believe ANYTHING their lord, savior, felon and pedophile tells them to believe or they will make wild excuses for him but when Obama used Dijon mustard and they wanted to crucify him.

The gas price has been decreased to $8!!

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. His heart sank as he thought of the enormous power arrayed against him, the ease with which any Party intellectual would overthrow him in debate, the subtle arguments which he would not be able to understand, much less answer. And yet he was in the right! They were wrong and he was right.

Kill international tourism with tarifs and talks of invading allies, then kill domestic tourism with gas prices. Guess the hotel lobby is not strong enought to push back.

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

he owns a chain of hotenls but is grifting so hard from taxpayers they can all be empty forever

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Doesn't matter. He's laundering millions through his hotels. Want to bribe the president? Book a few nights at his hotels for an over inflated cost. You don't even need to actually stay in the hotels.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Turns out laundering millions is just for pikers and PEDOnald has leveled up. PEDOnald and his sons have a crypto scheme that has made them billions so far.

Don't forget about ICE hurting domestic travel too

Guess the hotel lobby is not strong enought to push back.

They're up against the weapons lobby and the Israel lobby. It's no contest, they aren't even playing in the same league.

[–] Seaguy05@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Also start refusing to renew passports

[–] BananaIsABerry@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hotel lobby is not ~~strong enough to push back~~ providing enough bribes.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

They are also weakened already because of airbnb.

[–] Bwaz@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Who are you going to believe? The effin President or the gas prices right there on the sign?

[–] nickiwest@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

We've always been at war with Eurasia.

I swear, these people read 1984 as a how-to guide. Let's hope they skipped The Handmaid's Tale.

“When the war is over, gas will fall down at levels that you’ve never seen before,”

So he’s still calling it a war and it’s gone on for longer than 60 days. Congress is absolutely useless and has ceded their power to him by not reining him in. This has only taught him that he can declare war on any country, push it past the 60 day limit and congress wont do shit about it. I really thought that the checks and balances in this country were more than just theater that relied on people in power to not blatantly break the rules.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

Why would the straits be opened? The president can't meet Iranian conditions without looking like he lost. Plus Israel won't stop their bullshit and they own the president and our other ivy league swells with their blackmail.

Untied or unraveled

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe 13 points 2 days ago

Shut the fuck up, Donnie.

[–] aarch0x40@piefed.social 16 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Yes, apply for a third mortgage today so you can take a road trip this summer!!

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 9 points 2 days ago

Oh that's the highest diesel price I've seen today.

[–] Zier@fedia.io 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The entire trump administration should book multiple buses and take a road trip together. A road trip over a cliff!

[–] cyberpunk007@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 days ago

That would be a good use of your tax dollars. 🤣.

[–] pirate2377@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

Not to advocate for it, but gee, I wonder why someone would try to take his life when statements like this are an insult to our intelligence as he smugly makes America worse and worse...

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Wait, I thought we were all supposed to dress up like it's the 1950s on the airplane, as if being a slob on the airplane was a problem that America was really asking any leadership to solve.

I'm sorry, what were Duffy's qualifications again, besides being on the TV?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

Willingness to lick Trump's incontinent ass, same as all the others.
