...and usually I would feel bad for Sam, but he's been particularly hubristic this season so I was kind of happy to see him lose. But I'm glad we're getting a full Amy season next and she was great on the mini-season so she may well lift him to victory.
Overall, a great season! The game design was excellent. There were a couple of slower episodes but the strategic moments were really tense. The layers of strategy with Sam and Mike skipping the challenges and going negative because they knew there was the steal was good to watch, they managed to portray the 2-3 steps ahead in a really clear way.
I think that Sam and Mike were too scared of the steal at the end. Should they have just gone for for the challenges and got some extra coins, steal be damned? It's funny how I was confident they would win throughout the whole game with this strategy, but it all fell apart in the end.
The last few minutes with the tiger was really funny. We were screaming at the TV "it's obviously a tiger!!" Mike cringing and mouthing at the camera was so relatable.
I was screaming through my screen at Sam during that whole challenge! That rock was so perfectly like a tiger's stripes I could not believe Mike's luck in finding it. Usually when Sam loses it's down to terrible luck like train delays but this time for sure it was so many late-game strategy errors.
Omg it was so fucking frustrating. That rock could not have been more obviously a tiger. Even with the excuse they have on the Layover, that he was not in the mindset to think about colours, the colour was so striking it's just…frustrating.
I feel like team Sam made every possible wrong decision in the final episode. Not going for any of the points or steals up north, to race for a single points opportunity way down the east coast. Then somehow not realising the incredibly obvious tiger rock? Gah that was so frustrating.
