Stealing from a supermarket doesn't carry the same "moral meaning" as stealing someone's wallet or looting a small business, argues Ash Sarkar on Novara Live. Shoplifting falls short of being an "act of resistance" because it lacks collectivity, she says. But what about a mass organised shoplifting campaign, targeting companies that don't pay the minimum wage?
