Parental controls have existed for decades. I remember circumventing them in the 90s. This is not about children.

Although it will have the effect, for children, of announcing upfront to every site on the internet that you are a child. Which is fine because there's no one on the internet who would ever think to abuse this information.

Oh shit. It was so obviously not about children that i didnt even think about them.
