They won’t pay you a living wage but they’ll spend thousands to distract you so they don’t have to.

[–] bridgeenjoyer@sh.itjust.works 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

More like they will spend MILLIONS. Let's not forget education funding cuts and Russian bots taking over all social media to brain rot the public. Its all a finely crafted plan.

Its not even about money. They want to WIN. They want the biggest number on the scoreboard. They want the most power. They're sick fucks.

To quote Bill Burr, they should be put down like rabid dogs.

I was referring to this sole event. Yes, overall they’re spending hundreds of millions to keep us in our place.

Remember when Bush praised a single that was struggling and working three jobs just to keep her family fed and housed in a 1 bedroom apartment and he said "You work three jobs? ... Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that. Get any sleep?".

Yeah, Trump really is a Republican Christian, fake as fuck.

I've never seen a doordash driver wearing a doordash shirt.

The grey sweatpants and t-shirt combo is unmatched

I have fucked in kink dungeons that do a better job of looking posh than this guy's presidential palace.

[–] yopyop@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

Obligatory "imagine if Obama did that."

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 days ago

That pic of trump looks like he's grabbing putin's hand for a dance. He is very gushing and excited.

[–] Magnum@infosec.pub 1 points 6 days ago

This is a SNL skit

Meidas Touch is calling her out.

Faux News does the same exact shit to push their propaganda agenda.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That violates every journalistic standard that exists, and equates Fox News with the National Enquirer.

They should be sued by the government for false advertising, and be forced to remove "News" from their name. They can be Fox Politics, or Fox Opinion, or the Fox Conservative Propaganda Machine, but they should be prohibited from using the word news in the name of their company.

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Faux News was sued for defamation, their defense was "First amendment rights" and were deemed to be entertainment more than news.

Here's a fun article from popehat.com about it.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 13 points 1 week ago

Yep, they've even admitted to it, and used it to defend themselves in more than one defamation case. Since they acknowledge that they aren't an authentic news outlet, they should be forced to remove it from their name.

Well obviously in addition to her mothering and caregiving, Sharon is also casually a billionaire on the side, so she's getting a big cut on her taxes there.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

"What a relief, I'm paying more in taxes!"

That's fucking unbelievable!

So let me get this straight: they engineered this entire thing, even using a known operative, controlling all the variables, and they STILL managed to go off the rails, and send the counter message that America has terrible medical and retirement policies?

MAGA is virtuosically incompetent.

[–] Hozerkiller@lemmy.ca 65 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wow the craziest thing about this is trump is mentioned more times in epstine files than Harry potter is in his titular series.

[–] FilthyHands@sh.itjust.works 44 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He's in the files more than god is mentioned in the bible.

[–] CIA_chatbot@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago (2 children)

President Donald Trump staged a DoorDash delivery at the White House on Monday as part of an effort to promote legislation passed last year that makes many tips exempt from federal income tax.

The woman who made the delivery wore a shirt that read “DoorDash Grandma,” and was quickly revealed to be a plant. And the PR person at DoorDash has been struggling with the online backlash, since many news outlets played along like her delivery to the Oval Office was some impromptu case of Trump getting the munchies.

Like they expect us to believe the US president not only gets doordash but takes delivery personally?

That's beyond insulting, honestly

Edit: I say that, then I'm disappointed by reading some of the Bluesky replies who apparently think she was very brave for standing up to him. I really need to stop having faith in humanity...

[–] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago

It's either an intentional and shitty photo op or the guy who supposedly got hit by a bullet a year ago has such shitty security that a door dash driver can easily gain access to the president to deliver a bag with unknown contents.

Iran, if you're listening...

She's trying so hard to stick to the script and he had no idea what year it is

[–] Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The thing about this that is so infuriating is that it's so low effort. It's like some of the garbage YouTube content my kids ingests... Barely any effort... Lame storyline... Bad acting... But he just laps it up like Benji wants more milk bones.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

I already thought the whole thing was stupid, and THEN I saw the Doordash-branded car........... lolololol. That took it to the next level of stupid.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

Glad to see the White House actively shilling for corporations.

Garbage propaganda, so stupid it hurts.

[–] banshee@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This makes me hate DoorDash even more

Afford healthcare? Nah, all the elderly and disabled that cannot keep up with the capitalist grinder, are in prison or victims of the systematic suicide machine. It is like federated extermination camps without the paper trail for accountability. Such is reality of my life after being disabled by a fuckwit. The system you likely imagine to be there, but have not looked into in depth, is not. Big trees rot from the inside.

The problem is fundamentally simple. Gross inherited wealth is societal cancer. Intelligence is not hereditary in humans, but wealth is. There are no real leaders right now, because none of them have meritocratic validity; all inherited their wealth, like this one. Pass on as many upper middle class trust funds as you wish, but no other form of wealth whatsoever is transferrable. That one filter removes every problem name you know. In time it will fix the problem, at the forfeit of us. Japan is the only western aligned culture that is already inherited-wealth-cancer free. At the present, they are the only country that survives long term. The succession crisis that killed monarchy exists in all of the upper class, and is just as toxic.

Yo, whats with that gold ornamemts? It looks forced, out of place and cheap. Was it there before Trump took office?

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago

The white house looks like a cheesecake factory now

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

No. All the gaudy gold shit was added by him.

It was hard for me to find an unobstructed image of that door before he was in office, but you can see the ugly ornamentation over the window isn't there in this one:

[–] modus@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Cheap-looking and out of place is his MO!

The rumor is that Trump was getting lost so they printed up signs that said Oval Office and taped them to the exterior. You can find pics of that.

Then they made them permanent. I don't completely believe it, but it's still plausible.

[–] nosuchanon@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago (2 children)

How much does it cost to rent the president for an advertisement?

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

If you have to ask, you can't afford it
