Post TextRemember when Trump threatened to wipe out a whole civilization? And then backed out of that and talked about forming a deal with Iran? And then dropped that and went to a UFC fight as negotiations fell apart? And then unveiled a triumphal arch and a photo of himself as Jesus?

That was this week.

Bluesky.

What a week huh? US, it's tuesday.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 6 points 1 week ago

The US and the rest of the world has the same week. For the same reason.

2025 was an exhausting decade

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

Lol remember when everyone thought they had it tough living through history when "history" just meant "a pandemic"?

I’m tired, Boss.

Really tired.

One beans with jeans coming right up

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 3 points 1 week ago

Of course. All styles come in the "distressed" style

[–] U7826391786239@piefed.zip 40 points 1 week ago (2 children)

and just like that.... people aren't talking about the epstein files anymore

[–] Kowowow@lemmy.ca 33 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 15 points 1 week ago

"quick, while no ones talking about; talk about it!"

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah I mean sure the files and all but nuclear armageddon does, indeed, kind of take precedence of mind

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Nuclear Armageddon isn't happening. Of all the things that can collapse everything, that's pretty close to the bottom.

I'm getting the feeling they just put a dancing clown in front of us so we don't start talking about real problems and demanding solutions for them. I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but the entire Trump presidency is one big distraction. We could be talking about and working towards solutions to societies problems, but now the news cycle is a 24/7 clown show.

[–] FordBeeblebrox@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

That is precisely why my cousin Zaphod was allowed to become president, to draw attention.

[–] quarkquasar@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

He's not the first one.

Reagan was certainly far more qualified and intelligent than trump, but he was the same thing.

An old, white, face-guy who everyone could focus their attention on while the Heritage Foundation did its dirty work in the shadows.

There's a reason everything seems to have started stagnating in the 80's, because it did.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 3 points 1 week ago

He's always been a puppet. He wouldn't be where he is if powerful people didn't find him useful.

I mention the Epstein class all the time, and I straight up said I would kill Trump on the spot if I spotted him, to my co-workers. I do NOT hide it at all.

[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Remember when Randy Marsh took that giant shit? That's how I imagine America is going to feel after the big flush.

[–] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago

I mean, when you put it that way, anything can sound bad.

I hope I don't need the /s tag...

[–] WolfmanEightySix@piefed.social 4 points 1 week ago (6 children)

My partner and I can’t even remember why he bombed Iran. Anyone able to remind us?

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't think he ever gave a solid reason for it. At first it was something about them refining radioactive material, then it was about the apocalypse, then I stopped paying attention to the flimsy excuses.

[–] gandalf_der_12te@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

it was mostly because Netanyahu talked him into it, and also because it makes a great distraction from domestic problems at home, and also because it makes the stock market go up and down and trump's family can make lots of money through insider trading that way ...

[–] tomkatt@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Supposedly he thought it would increase his dismal polling numbers, as military action tended to do so for previous presidents.

Also, to distract from the Epstein files and several other things people are actively upset about.

And to set up the terrorist false flag needed to cancel the midterms.

[–] ch00f@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

It has been an "imminent threat" for the past 40 years. Not sure they understand the meaning of the word "imminent."

[–] edgemaster72@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

I've heard the phrase "largest state sponsor of terrorism" thrown around, but honestly I feel like it wasn't even mentioned until well after everything had started and it wasn't an immediate success like they must've thought it would be. No idea if it's true at all. And there's always "we gotta stop them from getting nukes".

Basically it's whatever they can think of in the moment in the rare instance they get questioned about it. They've also said all goals have been met since like, at least a week ago, so now I guess it's just for the love of the game.

Did you see the video of Trump talking to the UFC guy? Trump shook his hand and then wouldn't let go. And then Trump touched the guy's bare leg. It was crazy.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 4 points 1 week ago

I guess the dementia is weakening his control over his gay thoughts.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He closed the Strait of Hormuz twice.

The double standard is ridiculous.

I have a feeling the double standard is by design.

[–] Beebabe@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

It’s like one giant Groupon to someone else’s dementia room and we’re all trapped inside.

[–] Jaimesmith@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

At this point it reads less like news and more like a chaotic recap montage 😅
