Yeah, I hear magats saying, "if you dont have enough money for chemo your should have worked harder." This sounds like a miserable world to live in. Constant fear and conflict over artificial shortages, in the service of wealthy people that only invest if they make a tidy profit. The coopted poor are convinced they may one day be millionaires too. The rest of us are willing to work for the benefit of everyone, because it brings us joy. Helping others builds happy communities. Thats what we evolved to do, cooperate, not compete. There are more people today because of cooperation (globally), not competition. The most competitive societies struggle with civil war and ethnic conflict.

my surprise reading Keoporkin's Mutual Aid was that it was an ecological book, not a economic/political treatise. I kind of expected it to be more like das Kapital, instead it's basically "the selfish Gene" by Dawkins. IE, how altruism is natural and evolutionary beneficial
