I don't think this really works anymore. Now days the whole world can stay up to date on military matters with information that can be only minutes old or a day at most, making unhinged remarks just seem stupid and superfluous.

That depends on the target audience. It certainly plays into the Dark Enlightenment’s objective of scapegoating (mimetic theory) the chaos agent (Trump) tasked with dismantling democracy. By some metrics, the US is no longer a liberal democracy, so it must follow that phase 2 of establishing an authoritarian state techno-monarchy will begin during/soon after Trump’s actual removal.
