You’re going to have to pay for things like paved roads and services one way or another. It’s either going to have to be an income tax, or higher property taxes, and/or higher sales taxes. These expenses aren’t going anywhere.

Absolutely. I wish more people understood this, instead of jumping to "tax increases bad". Especially in this case, since before this (and even now), WA has a very regressive tax system (no income tax). This means it hurts low income people more through things like sales tax, and millionaires+ aren't paying their fair share.
This law is to increase state income without increasing sales tax as much as might be required.
Sorry, I know you know this already. I just needed to vent, I guess.
