It would be great if true, but the person creating the thread isn't even a mod of the sub. It's hard to migrate people this way.

He also seems to be a mod of some possibly questionable communities (what Reddit has them flagged as), tho I can’t actually view them w/o an account so… idk.

I checked his comms. Almost all of them show no posts, and the ones showing content seem to be OK? (Warning: I didn't check too deep into them).

I think Reddit is flagging them because... well, Reddit loves to misflag everything.

I always tbought it a little bit strange that the Linux subreddit was as big as it.

I guess network effects and familiarity are rather powerful things.
