Of course they'd urge the continuation of the war, they have access to the Red Sea, and while not convenient, can get around the Hormuz lockdown. To them, aside from the acceptable sacrifice of their population a little, the war is beneficial. Oil prices are up, they're sitting on oil, what's not to like?

Iranian backed Houthis can still fuck up the red sea though

Can the big oil tankers traverse that?

[–] rwrwefwef@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

Some, but not the largest.

Assuming human civilization lasts this long, in a hundred years they're going to call this period the Resource Wars.

[–] Texas_Hangover@lemmy.radio 3 points 1 week ago

The scary thing is, it hasn't even really started yet.

A lot of wars are over resources. The Gulf War and Iraq War were fairly recent wars that were also specifically over oil on the middle east.

You can make an argument everything is economics, but I don't think Trump got into this war for economic reasons (other actors may have, but not Trump)

[–] moonshadow@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 week ago

Trump's a useful idiot with motivations like "being near gold", "not shitting himself", and "getting away with fucking kids". I guarantee the guys at raytheon, palantir, haliburton et al ran the numbers before they let him start dropping bombs

Israel and Saudi will fight Iran to the last American…

[–] CaptainSpaceman@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Theyre just laughing as their oil reserves get bought up at a huge premium

[–] rwrwefwef@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago

Ironic when the roles are reversed.

Wait. So the guy who saws journalists into pieces is in favour of more violence?

Mister Bone Saw continues to mesmerize Donald Trunk

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Donald isn't doing this out of patriotism, homeland security, or even in service to our alliances. He's doing it for two reasons:

  • So the world doesn't talk about Epstein. (Likely that's why he's sending Americans to die for Israel specifically.)
  • Because free jets, and price-gouged hotel stays, and Trump coins aren't free. They're paid for with favors, even if it means getting reservists killed in an illegal war.

It's just a quid pro quo. That's it.

Shitty Arabia is the US's number one simp. Those stupid fuckers don't understand that their turn comes after Iran. Go back to blowing your oil money on dumb shit like THE LINE that you've been duped into investing with flashy presentations by western consultants that you simp so hard for, clown prince moron bin shitsack.

Saudi may not have wanted this war to start, but they damn well want to see it finished. If the US backs out of the region, Saudis are cooked.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Except they did want the war

[–] leoj@piefed.zip 3 points 1 week ago

Please keep using your million dollar missiles, we love the high gas prices!

Saudi Arabia urging US to ramp up Iran attacks

And with what are they supposed to do that? The loss of its refueling aircraft at Prince Sultan airbase is going to make a deep cut in US air superiority capabilities. If Saudi can't even protect the base, then America won't be able to do much to protect its Arab puppets.

[–] demizerone@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

I hope Iran sends this douche bag a golden gift.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Well we're taking our orders from Putin and Netenyahu lately, who not MBS too I suppose. Are there any other evil fucks we should consult around where we send US troops to both murder others and be killed themselves?

I suppose I should be instead asking who else has been sold a copy of the Epstein files. Seems like everyone has it except the American voters.
