These fucking local politicians. "The demonstrations are disruptive." Yeah dumbass protests are supposed to be disruptive.

Don't be in the street. Stay off the grass, sidewalks only. Lose the megaphones it's a nuisance. Hey car passing through, stop honking that's disruptive!

Coming soon - Put the signs away they're a distraction to drivers.

Slippery slope to cease assembly, you can't keep harassing a private business like that.

I'm not sure what to think. It does sound like people living within earshot must be getting a raw deal.

On the other hand, designating Mayfield Road as "quiet" is ridiculous. Cracking down on horns but not loud motorcycles (and, more and more these days, cars) is ridiculous.

The authorities always seem to be asking themselves "What excuse can we invent to shut these little people up?" and never "How can we justify kicking this car dealership out of town?"

As a reasonable compromise, why not just enforce the quiet time outside of business hours? I hear all sorts of loud shit outside my window but as long as it doesn't wake me up, I shrug it off as the price of living in the city.
