On the F1 site, in their article, Stefano was quoted saying

"While this was a difficult decision to take, it is unfortunately the right one at this stage considering the current situation in the Middle East."

And I just wanna say, what the fuck do you mean "this was a difficult decision to take"? What was so difficult about it Stefano?

To be honest that's a fairly standard PR thing to say. Any time there's a obvious decision to make, its always "hard" and "difficult" to make. Though it would be hilarious if he did say "oh yeah it was the easiest decision of my life, I mean everything is on fire and missiles are flying all over the place." But the world is a humourless and joyless place so we cant have that.

Personally, I think it comes across as callous and greedy. Not very good PR IMO.

This is what they said when they cancelled the Russian Grand Prix.

We are watching the developments in Ukraine with sadness and shock and hope for a swift and peaceful resolution to the present situation. On Thursday evening Formula 1, the FIA, and the teams discussed the position of our sport, and the conclusion is, including the view of all relevant stakeholders, that it is impossible to hold the Russian Grand Prix in the current circumstances.

Wasn't a difficult and hard decision then... and they're not watching the developments in the middle East with "sadness and shock" and "hope for a peaceful and swift resolution"

Oh I didnt mean to imply that it was a good response! I agree, callous, greedy, unserious and even insulting to everyones intelligence.

But thats normal PR answers lol

Kinda unfair that Vegas and Texas aren't cancelled too.
