I can only see conservativism as a cult for the narcissistic and the gullible. I do feel for people born into cults but at a certain point you are responsible for continuing on believing it.

MODERATORS
Conservatism, by definition, wants to keep things the way they are. And the only way to hold that view is if you ignore, deny, or dehumanize those for whom the current system isn't a problem.
So when we as a society identify systemic issues, conservatives will always be opposed to fixing them. It's the heart of their ideology.
Not trying to beat a dead horse, I'm mostly posting this for other readers to understand why they and you have experienced stuff like this.
