Looking to the US tourism industries to further collapse.

This is so intrusive that most of the "I have nothing to fear if I have nothing to hide" crowd will get creeped out by this.

They will enforce it selectively to avoid that outcome. Even now their tourism industry has taken a hit but many tourists still go without incident.

The thing is that a lot of people will see this and aren't even going to book a flight to see if they're going to be selected or not

d, f, g, and maybe h, are actually already a part of the USCIS forms for immigrants (idk about tourists tho)

I know because my parents suck at English and I had to fill them out... it kinda feels normal to me...

They even asked for the death certificate of my maternal grandfather when my mother applied for her mother (aka: my maternal grandmother) to come to the us...

These days if you wanna go anywhere, you basically have to give up on your privacy...

Or I mean we could've stayed in China... you know... the totalitarian surveillance state with the firewall... so like it's the same lack of privacy either way 🤷‍♂️

My parents don't even give a crap about privacy... surveillance is so normalized to them...

I will say, the IP address thing is so silly, who the fuck actually jot down their IP address every time they use their computer... dynamic IP addresses lmfao

ROFL Excuse me?! They are taking the absolute piss with all those requirements, as an American, I hope tourism plummets to the point they need to backpedal aggressively. This lets you know that the US leaders are fucking scared and nervous about their temporary control...Like they should be because fascism is never going to be fetch, no matter how much they want it to be.

[–] imrighthere@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 days ago

What do you think they're scared of, some signs and whistles ? They're kicking the shit out of you and winning.

[–] thatsnothowyoudoit@lemmy.ca 8 points 4 days ago

Thanks for me know how you’re categorizing mass surveillance metadata America.

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Even if I knew most of those, I wouldn't share it. Fuck off.

Thats my question. Say i don't have any social media's? Would they even believe me?

DNA and iris data? Are you kidding me? Nobody gets those biometrics.

Why would anyone be stupid enough to visit the us?

Boo! Sports ball bad!

With that out of the way, that is a reason I would never have considered because sports are just something that has no part in my life. Even if they did I can't imagine they would be a good enough reason for me to visit a fascist shithole but hey different strokes I suppose.

[–] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 days ago

family, friends, business... there are lots of reasons besides sightseeing.
