Such a coincidence. I wonder if this is some kind of social marketing.

That would be woke and anti american.

[–] 13igTyme@piefed.social 12 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

The movie would be directed by some right wing moron and she'd be the bad gal for killing innocent Nazis

[–] UnspecificGravity@piefed.social 15 points 9 hours ago

Because the guys that finance our movies would have been SS collaborators.

When Freddie Oversteegen was asked how many enemies she had killed, she replied:
"One should not ask a soldier any of that."

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 23 points 11 hours ago

You don't ask a man how much money he makes, a lady her age, or Freddie here how many God Damned Nazi's she killed.

i propose a fediverse movie, hosted on peertube

[–] abbadon420@sh.itjust.works 77 points 14 hours ago

A district in my hometown is called after her. Not a street, a whole district. Build in the 1970's

why is her territory expanding? please tell me she isnt doing a Lebensraum

[–] GandalftheBlack@feddit.org 3 points 2 hours ago

No, she's making a Lesbenraum instead. Much more based.

[–] Sunsofold@lemmings.world 7 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Might have to age her up a little to allow certain scenes to even be shot, but it'd make a great movie. Then again, if you wrote around it, it'd be brutally effective to show the reality of her seducing those Nazi soldiers and killing them as a literal child.

[–] Olhonestjim@lemmy.world 1 points 3 minutes ago

I have zero objections to portraying nazis as pedophiles and having children kill them.

[–] doctor0710@lemmy.zip 23 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

In the videogame Wolfenstein: The New Order there's mentions from a character that might be loosely based on her, or at least the details are very similar. Look up "Ramona's diary" if you'd like to read more.

"May 2, 1941. The Nazi appears to become sleepy after climaxing. I learned this as his little soldiers were leaking out of me onto his sheets. And his face turned blue, from the rope applied to his neck in his slumber. Tomorrow is my eighteenth birthday."

This one sticks in my memory for that interesting description of a creampie

He died doing what he loved, I suppose

Like in American history you hear about Paul Revere riding a damn horse over and over, yet you never learn about Nancy Morgan Hart. I learned who she was from a Bad Cop/Bad Cop song.

[–] Eat_Your_Paisley@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago

And it’s a great song

[–] exaybachae@startrek.website 5 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Interesting stories... But if she held a bunch of soldiers captive in her home with one firearm she likely wouldn't have been able to shoot one and still hold the others captive, as she would've had to reload for the gun to remain a threat.

It's more likely that she held them at gunpoint and then others helped detain them so they could be hung.

If even just one or two soldiers knew they were going to be killed they would've likely risked death to rush her or their other captors, giving themselves at least some chance at survival.

Back then soldiers and people in general usually carried knives too, not just guns.

[–] hactar42@lemmy.world 9 points 13 hours ago

While the accounts are most like exaggerated, so are most things from that time. We still learned about Paul Revere and not the 40 other riders out that night. Or the fact the Revere was captured, while the others with him escaped. And Samuel Prescott was the one who actually finished the ride.

The farther you get into that article, the longer her name gets.

(Good stuff tho.)

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 22 points 13 hours ago

In the US, she would be considered a "radical left antifa terrorist" for this. Because Nazis are the "true patriots" according to MAGA.

There is a German podcast episode about her and two other girls by the great podcast show Geschichte der Kommenden Welten for those who understand German

Freddie was apparently just 14 when she started executing Nazis, so why not? Send children the message that history will celebrate them if they strike back at their abusers.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 20 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Dunno if anyone's been paying attention, but there's a shitload of Nazis all around. Also, women are historically shuttered when it comes to their stories.

Groups of people systematically underrepresented in popular media? Nonsense! Here's a man that still doesn't have a movie:
