Take a moment to be blown away by how many people don’t care about this.

[–] Ascrod@midwest.social 7 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Some people do care - they just don't want smelly immigrant jails in their backyard.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Oh, these aren’t for immigrants.

[–] Ascrod@midwest.social 2 points 3 days ago

First they came for the immigrants, dot dot dot.

It's a rotting shithole country, you expected better ?

Oh not at all. Just pointing out one of the many factors that opened the door for fascism. In the event that people begin looking to the past for answers, this will be here.

I distinctly remember, in the late 90s, when talk radio was really taking off, sitting at my desk at my proofreading job for the data entry clerks at an HMO listening to the Mancow show (yeah lol) and hearing about how Clinton was going to get FEMA to build all these camps and declare martial law and round up the Republicans, it was all over those talk radio shows.. well... look who's building the fucking camps now, et tu?

every time its projection. just like stealing the elections.

[–] etherphon@midwest.social 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Just crazy how long ago it was said, that's some long term projection. Eerie even.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I mean they have been ramping up since the hanging chads thing. It made them realize how they could win elections by disenfranchising voters.

[–] etherphon@midwest.social 1 points 4 days ago

Well, their timing couldn't be worse, the world is on the verge of many major technological shifts and we're going all in with the dinosaurs. I don't know how people can't see how that's incredibly short sighted but then I think I've made my entire life way too difficult by giving people too much credit idk.

It was a projection for the plans they already had - they just didn’t want anyone else to implement them first.

Welp, atleast they ain't FEMA camps....

According to a source familiar with the project, “the goal is for the facilities to house as many as 10,000 people each, and are expected to be built in Louisiana, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Utah, and Kansas.”

The 6 states about to have concentration camps.

Why would they repurpose a navy contract? Well past time to get moving when this deep in nazi fascism - RESIST

[–] Ascrod@midwest.social 7 points 5 days ago

They're basically using the contract as an umbrella against any potential move by Congress to block more funding.
