A while ago I've only played up to the end of Act 1 before I had to drop it for personal reasons, right now I'm waiting for it to install(forever) to check for myself, but insight from people who know better would be helpful :)

I remember there was an option to just play as any of the characters and make decisions through them, as well as to star the game from the characters in the campaign, without creating your own. so I'm thinking how possible would it be to start as any of the available characters, and from there just take turns over who plays which ones. I have 4 controllers so normal local is possible, but there's more than 4 of us so that wouldn't be ideal.

I barely know enough about the game, none of us are experienced really, I get this is a normie question 🥲

You can do this during fights. The question is who will control the party when just walking around and talking to NPCs or exploring the world. Who will make the story changing decisions?

Also things like leveling up your character, or changing equipment may be more painful depending on everyone's patience. Being in a multiplayer campaign is already quite the commitment but having to wait for your turn at the controller to change equipment or spells might make it unenjoyable.

those are really good points yeah, and from what I've read it just seems incredibly tedious for what I was thinking would be the easy path lol. hell it wouldn't even be the full experience if not everyone can make their own decisions whenever they want.

thank you, we'll see to just buy or find online a dnd campaign like normal people 💀

You can but as the other poster said it’d be pretty tedious.

Maybe to make it less tedious you could do two person split screen. Each split screen half has two characters so it’d be a bit less switching. Also people can have extra characters at camp. So that way if you have more than 4 you can swap out every now and then. Anyone in camp receives the same xp.
