Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

It won't be "integrated" beyond employees using it to summarize emails.

Elon Musk is once again supporting Trump and allies for the elections, so automatically they needed some way to give him money. This contract is one of the ways.

The tool itself is useless.

The tool itself is useless

It could probably put Kegsbreath in a bikini if you asked it to. But yeah, other than that it's useless.

[–] LadyButterfly@reddthat.com 10 points 1 day ago

Yep likely/hopefully it will be limited to that. But a) It's Trump and Musk so we can't trust it'll stay at that and b) even emails have a fuckton of restricted info in and I don't trust Musk with it.

Therefore if a single email login is compromised, all info transacted via email is exfiltrated. Not just email from the compromised login. All of it.

[–] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

They won't be summarizing emails. They'll be mass producing CSAM to use against their enemies and to get themselves off.

Can't wait to try asking grok to post about ongoing operations and reading it on xitter

LMAO! It’s going to try and rape the capitol building.

That'll be it's fan fiction... The real danger is letting an "antiwoke" Ai have inside knowledge on state secrets. It's not like that Ai has shown homicidal tendencies to participate groups of people let alone a disgust of humanity as a whole?

When I say Ai (LLM) learning about the atrocities our government doesn't let see the light of day is a mistake. And these idiots don't want to stop there. The want the machines to have the ability to kill without human involvement. They are testing it now in Gaza.

“Very soon we will have the world’s leading AI models on every unclassified and classified network throughout our department,” Hegseth said. [my emphasis]

Well that doesn't sound risky at all. :|

All that classified data in Musk's grubby little hands.

[–] Ledivin@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He got most of it from DOGE already anyway

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

That was just everyone's social security information. This is military stuff. Much more useful to his Russian and Saudi pals.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The next president should use this as pretext for the state to shut down Grok for national security reasons.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

Ironically I bet the considered this angle when they got together with Musk for this.

“If he gets out of line again, we can seize his most valuable assets since they are not a national security risk.”

They so jealous of the War thunder forums

[–] TimeSquirrel@kbin.melroy.org 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wasn't this the cause of future events in the whole Terminator series?

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No, in the terminator they had an AI that could think.

[–] TimeSquirrel@kbin.melroy.org 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Don't need to be able to think to cause mass devastation with a rogue AI. I present the paperclip problem: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instrumental_convergence

And from my experience trying to use it for programming, I know it absolutely will try its best to reach an unbounded goal you set for it even if it means creating the most convoluted and unmaintainable spaghetti code you've ever seen, or even trying to find loopholes to suppress error messages without actually fixing the error.

[–] gartheom@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I didn't realize the paperclip maximizer was a real thought experiment outside this game I found a few years back: https://www.decisionproblem.com/paperclips/
