I'm really sick of seeing people say shit like this who clearly don't consume traditional news media or, as seems to be the case here, people who don't bother to check before just saying shit on the internet?
Montreal Gazette, CBC, Lapresse, City News. All of these news posts report the facts - Ubisoft spouted some bullshit, and here are the suspicious details that draw a direct correlation between their unionizing and the studio shutdown.
There are plenty of valid concerns and critisms of news media in [current year], how about we don't make up fake problems.
Edit: I realized this post is a little stale so I checked publication time stamps and while one didn't show the time, the other three all went up 10+ hours ago while this lemmy post is 7h old.
There's probably nuance but if your company geta shut down atter unionizing, forming a union was probably the right choice and you where probably screwed either way.
That and I don't have a high opinion of Ubisoft.
Alright, adding another studio to the boycott list. A man can't have any fun these days with AAA titles, can he.
Ubisoft should've been on there for a loooong time.
