Power is above the law, and politics is failing. I wouldn't be that surprised if China just takes Taiwan before their readiness deadline.

How? I mean physically. How would China even attempt to do that now? Taiwan has one of the largest and best equipped militaries in the world and it’s an island, a natural fortress. It would be a worse fiasco for them than Putin‘s invasion on Ukraine.

I was going to say: fear of international retaliation is not what's holding China back right now. Any "successful" invasion of Taiwan would turn the island into the surface of the Moon and be akin to a Zapp Brannigan "Killbots have a preprogrammed kill limit" strategy in terms of casualties.

Donald Trump is far too corrupt, stupid, and unpopular to lead the kind of international retaliation that would actually make China hurt. If they wanted to invade but felt pressured, they would've done it the microsecond that sack of shit entered the Oval Office.

Trump..."So, after I got away with the whole Venezuela thing I realized I could do anything else I wanted and still have sex with little girls. We might even televise it, we're not sure though." /s

Practicing on Venezuela in order to get ready to take Greenland.

NATO activating article 5 on itself? Putin might fatally cream his pants.

I guarentee you if the usa attack greenland. The rest of Nato won't fo anything about it. Even if the usa is out of Nato, Nato will still do nothing about it

Yep. Handwringing. Condemnation. Too little, too late. You will be disappointed every single fucking time.

The reality is that it will be easier to wait for trump to go away, and assume whomever takes over after him will restore the status quo, then it would be to confront the US in anyway.

Venezuela has over 28 million people. Greenland has 56 thousand. Even if you assumed the latter could punch above its weight because it's a rich first-world country -- and even if you included the whole 6 million population of Denmark in your assessment too -- the idea of working up to it from Venezuela seems backwards to me.

"Practicing" doesn't necessarily need to mean only militarily. Taking over a country here and there. Starting with countries that have bad people in charge. Working up to more and more controversial targets. 😅
