Lavishly drawn and animated, as others have said.

The computer animated knights and critters looked really good, and not too computer graphics-like.

The attempt to turn the "goddess blesses hero to victory" trope on its head is interesting, but feels a bit... labored?

I did love the corrupted enemies. They were cool and creepy looking.

Who knew there were so many frogs in a forest?

I could do with less angst from the protagonist though. I didn't see any point to him waiting to charge in at the last minute instead of taking some proactive measures to fulfill his mission of preserving the human forces.

Good thing the goddess' abilities matched well with his own. Imagine things wouldn't have worked out so well if she was the goddess of magical hats or something.

The goddess' attitude was well done, and I found myself liking her, despite telling myself that she's probably programmed to be like this.

Captain Xivia probably killed as many of her own men than the enemy through her awful sense of command.

Overall I'd say the episode worked.

When she asked him what blessing he wanted, I believe there were a number of weapons shown within her eye. I’m pretty sure he already got the “blessing of daggers” so he went with swords this time.

Maybe the powers the goddesses give out are personalized to the knight ?

I agree that the distance they at, and how much did they was kind of weird. It is understandable not wanting to show themselves to the troops with how they react to Heroes, but yeah..

Captain Xivia probably killed as many of her own men than the enemy through her awful sense of command.

That was really weird, was there any reason for her wanting to push so much even though the orders were to retreat ? That was kind of confusing to me. And she doesn't seem incompetent per se. Plus she has main cast vibes.

She declares herself Goddess of Swords, so if the hero needed magical hats, they would be out of luck...

Re: Captain Xivia. That was kind of confusing to me. And she doesn't seem incompetent per se. Plus she has main cast vibes.

Unwillingness to retreat is incompetence for a commander. She's probably one of those better off as a fighter than a commander.

But it did sound like Xenias(?) at the Hero Command camp had different orders from whomever Xivia was taking orders from, so command confusion on the same side is entirely possible, especially with everyone except the heroes on medieval tech.

She declares herself Goddess of Swords

Oh true, had forgotten about that.

Pretty cool episode. I thought the dialog was a bit drawn out at times, the 2 main characters are a little over the top lol.

86, but fantasy world

I think the episode started off pretty poorly, with exposition being shoved down our throats in the most inelegant way possible, but it did get more interesting over time. I'll keep watching for now, but I'm definitely concerned that the writing won't be able to able to keep up with the visuals.

I didn't know what to expect from this. I really like this new show and the animation is great..
