Welcome to c/WouldYouRather, where we present you with the toughest, most ridiculous choices you never knew you had to make! Would you rather have a third arm that's only useful for picking your nose, or be able to talk to animals but only if they're wearing hats? Yeah, it's that kind of vibe. Come for the absurdity, stay because you've clearly got nothing better to do with your life.

Recently there was a bit of a controversy about the new coca-cola christmas adverts. Clearly AI generated, too many wheels, weird faces, etc. IRC coca-cola did focus groups. The conclusion was that people liked that the trucks were red and that they recognised the logo. If they even noticed it was AI, they didn't care at all.

If I was an artist or in a creative field, that would scare me. You spend years mastering your talent, only to find out you're easily replacable by vastly inferior AI slop.

On a related note, streamers like Netflix are increasingly producing second-screen content. Something you watch in the background while you're on your phone. Dumbed down plots, frequent exposition, lowest common denominator slop. Wouldn't be surprised if they increasingly start using AI too. Hollywood isn't safe either. Especially now that US cultural dominance and soft power is declining. America simply isn't cool anymore.

I think I hate Corporate Memphis more, because it's so closely associated with American Big Tech.

I'd rather be ruled by Skynet than facebook.

Product photography, particularly in fashion but pretty much everywhere, is being taken over by AI slop. ECommerce websites are already full of the stuff and the consumer either doesn't notice or doesnt give a shit.

Is everything made by humans? Then I don't care.

At least with Corporate Memphis a bottle's worth of water wasn't wasted to create like the piss colored slop. "ai" does not create art, it reproduces derivative garbage.

Fuck both. I can live without art.

Corporate Memphis. So that's what that's called. It was fun the first few times I saw it, but, I guess I'd rather take my chances with AI slop if it's got to be one or the other.

No but its just that one style. Human or clanker.

Is there something to slop-style besides the sprinkling of weird, broken details? I'm leaning hard towards that.
