My big three wins of these from a personal perspective would be:

  • Advances in vaccine technology, in particular mRNA tech. I also love how the right-wing weirdos don't even understand what the tech actually is, nevermind what it does. 😅 It makes their ramblings about it so entertaining to hear.
  • An actual image of an actual black hole. Little me decades ago loved Sci-Fi - I mean I kinda still do. And this is Sci-Fi, now. It's weird to think that in 30 years that near-future actually became the present.
  • Feathered dinosaurs, simply because of it making me realize how my entire visual understanding of dinosaurs was entirely the creation of Jurassic Park.

Homo floresiensis, discovered in 2003, lived on the Indonesian island of Flores some 50,000 years ago; these relatives have been nicknamed “hobbits” for their small stature.

Apparently #1 is the development of the paywall.

Oh sorry, that must be based on location then, it's not paywalled when I access it. Weird. 😔

Not your fault. It happens all the time.
