Mamdani would not have won without running as a Democrat. I'm still in favor of a party coup via primary action unless the DSA can actually go toe to toe with the Democratic and Republican parties at the same time. I'll probably drop some money on them in '26, but I'm not really convinced they'll be a potent standalone group without the brand recognition of the Democratic party.

It may be viable in smaller seats in pretty blue districts. The losing move would be a presidential run.

Ngl this sounds like the same song and dance contrarians always do. "This organization isn't doing it right" and even do the "well these far right parties would be more left than the DSA".

If people like the author were such experts and even quoting history then why are we under trump with a rise of fascism. You think they would have prevented it with their foresight.

It comes off as the person that won't attempt to do something mad at someone who actually doing something
