Todd Howard mentioned that he likes the idea of doing more shadow drops, combine that with "fallout is the franchise we're working on most right now" I'm not implying New Vegas remastered will drop tomorrow, but... What if it did?

Personally, id probably ignore the show , and play the game till episode 7, binge it all, and wait the week for episode 8.

It would be on brand for Bethesda given that that Long 15 mod just came out.

As much as I hate to say it, a New Vegas Remaster can improve the game in ways modders never could. The visuals are fundamentally held back by engine limitations more than games on the creation engine.

On the other hand, I'm not sure if Bethesda thought Oblivion Remastered would be as successful as it's been, meaning most of the work would need to have been done in the past year. That level of crunch would absolutely suck, especially since a large chunk of the staff that did the Oblivion remaster got laid off, increasing inefficiency. I would not feel good about buying it and would likely pirate it if I play it at all.

They would also likely farm out work to other studios. Bethesda is at a point where they're pissing off ALL of their fans, and likely a lot of big wigs at Microsoft. One remaster isn't going to relieve the pressure for them.

But you're right about the game engine. It's just been so long that there's only so much you can do with it. And on consoles it's even more apparent than pc, just how old that and FO3 are.

They would also likely farm out work to other studios.

That goes without saying. The layoffs happened at the studio they paid to make Oblivion Remastered. Besides, they didn't even make New Vegas in the first place and made Obsidian crunch to finish it, so them crunching some other studio would just be spiritually consistent.
