Hillary Clinton is facing a deluge of criticism after stating that young Americans' growing support for Palestinians is influenced by "totally made-up" videos on TikTok and suggesting that American youth - including young Jews - "don't know history and don't understand" Israel's war on Gaza.

Speaking on Tuesday at a summit hosted by the right-wing Israeli paper Israel Hayom in New York City, the former Democratic presidential candidate expressed her concerns that “smart, well-educated young people” in America and around the world are getting a lot of their information, including about Israel and Palestine, from social media platforms like TikTok.

The former US secretary of state described it as "serious problem for democracy", remarking that when she attempted to have "reasonable discussions" with young people, it was challenging because “they did not know history, they had very little context, and what they were being told on social media was not just one-sided, it was pure propaganda".

I'm not trying to dis your post but:

Hillary Clinton is a bad person with all kinds of bad opinions. Is she still truly influencing policy, though? Is she an important bellwether on something? Or is this an article that's basically like, "Hey! Remember that shitty person who used to be in politics like a decade ago? Yeah, they're still alive, still shitty, and I bet you're sorry I reminded you they exist!"

She's still a powerful voice in the Democratic Party and I wouldn't be surprised to see her in a primary again

She represents the democratic party establishment which is certainly still influencing policy and, as far as I know, has made no attempts to distance itself from her. Even speaking at this event reflects terribly on the party.

I mean, yeah. She’s the former head of the Democratic Party. She still wields incredible influence.

Haha it can’t be propaganda unless it’s government speech… So she is now anti-Zionist? /s

TikTok and social media are to blame for showing people what we suppress the regular media not to!

Thank god she was never president, she actually has the means to back up her terrible policies

Edit: had the means, hopefully her political career is now in the dustbin of history…

Is it possible she was also referring to young Jewish people believing propaganda on TikTok?

Social media influenced “not just the usual suspects, but also young Jewish Americans who don’t know the history and don’t understand,” she added.

Reader, it is.
