I only watched half of BellsHells previously, so i dont know much, but i can see what you're saying. I'm enjoying it, and i find that there is some humor, but maybe less than before. But i guess it's partly related to the start of this campaign, there's a lot of things to setup, new world, new players, new DM, so i bet humor will slowly grow as everyone gets comfortable. Also, the last episode was quite fun actually!

I still enjoy it, just not quite as much as the early eps for the other ones so far!
I haven’t seen ep 6 yet but I’ll give it a watch!
(I'm only halfway through episode 4 so I can't really say for sure)
We started off with tragedy and mystery so I think we need to let things breathe a bit and I'm sure the humor will come. Might be a bit flipped from previous campaigns where we start light because there were no big issues at the beginning so we can start with humor.
@ChoomSDN I don't know about melodramatic, but there's certainly less action.
Less action? We've had a character introduced with a death saving throw, a character has been murdered, a chase through a haunted wood, and a fight with a literal zombie horde. Brennan does seems to be encouraging the players to solve problems creatively and punishing the "punch our way out of it" problem solving style, but describing that as less action hardly seems appropriate. These are still low level characters; I'm sure they'll get more initiative rolls as they level up. Right now, they're likely to get slaughtered by said action. Besides, the long overture included all the main characters, and we've only had a couple episodes with the soldiers table who are likely to see the most action.
Yeah that’s true too
An easy argument to make for the more dialogue-heavy episodes is what we know of Brennan's style from the Dimension 20 series. Additionally, for a new universe, it would would naturally need plenty of backstory.
One of the aforementioned Dimension 20 shows that was famously full of intrigue was called A Crown of Candy and there is reason to believe that its style of play is going to heavily influence Campaign 4.
