Anyone that thinks humans are going to meet climate goals doesn't know humans very well.

There has never been, and will never be a systemic problem that is solved by all individuals making individual choices.

If we want systemic changes we need to enforce them.

A responsible leader would cull our meat industries and tell anyone who whines to fuck themselves because it's less burger or we go extinct.

Systematic change is what follows after individual change. You need to have enough people agreeing to this after receiving the necessary education. There is a reason why the meat industry is fighting tooth and nail to confuse the general population with disinformation and fear-mongering on plant-based diets.

We are talking about a significant minority choosing to push for legislation that does what they want so everyone else is forced to go along with it.

This is different than the fantasized solution where everyone spontaneously does the right thing.

I think the crux of it is making people care though. If people don't care about animal well-being enough to become vegan, what is going to make them care about the environment enough to become vegan? The environmental crisis is going to have to get a lot worse before people even consider giving up their precious meat
